\"Vevo\"

Remember the days when Kurt Loder delivered your music news and Dire Straits taught us how to get your money for nothing and your chicks for free?

Those were the days when MTV played music videos, the days when people actually watched TV on TV's. A lot has changed since those days. Kurt Loder turned 70 this month. That is not a typo, Kurt Loder is 70 years old! Dire Straits broke up 20 years ago and MTV has morphed into a reality TV channel. That is the way life goes; people get older, things that were once good no longer are and our expectations change.

You Can Program Your Own MT..Vevo Channel.

Much the way Mark Knopfler left Dire Straits only to find his way back to us via a successful solo career, Vevo is bringing music videos back to us...and it is better.

\r\n\r\n

The most satisfying part of the new streaming content reality is that each of us get's to create an experience that is catered to us.  Remember waiting endless hours for your favorite band's video to come on TV?  Remember actually having a favorite band?  Vevo lets you create a custom MTV like channel and allows you to do it on all the devices that are personal to you. You can play it on your mobile device, cue it up on your computer and bring it up on the big screen at home.  You can create your own personalized playlists to be played back later when you are in the mood for that genre of music.

Have a Dance Party

\r\n

My wife and I enjoy cuing up a bunch of videos of popular music from today and videos we enjoyed growing up on the TV and Sonos Playbar in the family room and watching the kid's (and sometimes us) have a dance party.  We have tons of home videos of exactly that to embarrass our young sons, and ourselves, with when they get older.  For parties we like to create a playlist and play it back on the TV and on other Sonos speakers we have in other rooms and outside.  It is always fun to see people's reactions to the music, to the way people dressed in the particular era of the video (there are lots of fun videos from the early MTV days on VEVO) and to be able to listen to the same music in other rooms.  The music becomes an engaging part of the party and a fun talking point.
